We came for Easter and spend a good week in the house. Easy to travel around the area, close to Platja d Aro and nightclubs, shops, restaurants. The only thing is that the pool was a bit green in when we came but the poolman took care pretty fast and it was too cold to use it anyway.

Villa Maricel in Sant Feliu de Guixols - a decent property in mostly convenient location that shows signs of being very heavily used. It is not as close to the beach as they portray, its a solid 20 minute walk away. It is convenient to a grocery store-market however, which was handy. I would not put this property in the luxury category. It does not have air conditioning, nor ceiling fans, so the rooms were extremely hot most nights. Also, there are not screens on the windows so we got bitten up by flies, mosquitoes and spiders all week. The property advertises a lift but it does not work so we had to carry our heavy luggage up three flights of stairs. The lawn around the pool had overgrown weeds all around the pool that we ended up trimming with scissors because they drove us crazy. There are only 12 pool chairs and 2 umbrellas for a property that sleeps 22-25 people. Also, there were no pool towels provided, nor wash clothes. We understand that Europeans dont use wash cloths, but many other people around the globe do. Also, in the main kitchen in the house the toaster did not work, two of the four burners on the stove did not work, and the grill in the main kitchen did not work. And, the property has no gate code pad that allows people to come and go at will. Trying to deal with two keys for 13 people doing different things day and night was incredibly challenging. And, as mentioned before - we will never work with StayBCN again - their service was amongst the worst we have encountered in the world. It should not be up to the clients paying for a luxury villa to try and chase down basic information about what is or is not included in the rental, when our payments are due and to whom, whether payment were received, and so on. These are very basic pieces of information that were extremely challenging for us to pull out of this supplier. So, you can imagine that the helpful information such as things to do in the area, how to get around, where to dine and so on, were not provided. Again, not luxury service. Not even good service. Natalia at Amarante Villas was very helpful and if not for her, I would have cancelled this reservation long ago.

The villa was perfect. The only complaint was the cleanliness of the pool. Everything else was brilliant.
